The Redhead^® jetted bathtub water temperature maintenance heater has been designed to the highest safety standards. The Redhead heater has been granted Listing status by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) as a Listed Hydromassage Bath Accessory Heater suitable for field installation. This was accomplished by ensuring that a Listed Redhead heater, bearing the familiar UL Listed mark, would be installed in the field on jetted bathtubs that were manufactured with Aquatemp’s patent pending Heater Reddy™ heater installation fitting present in the tub’s piping system.  Through factory installation of the Heater Reddy fitting, the location of the heater would be established and homeowners, using simple tools no more complicated than a screwdriver or pliers, could easily accomplish installation of the heater.

It is also acknowledged that not all jetted bathtubs will have a Heater Reddy fitting installed, as would be the case with older retrofit installations.  Aquatemp has addressed this by (a) designing the heater to make proper installation a simple matter, and (b) by preparing the installation instructions for non-Listed heaters to accommodate field installation in bathtubs that do not have the Heater Reddy fitting installed. These heaters are identified as Universal Redhead Heaters.
